Peter Zammuto, Psy.D., is a licensed clinical psychologist, and Rockford native, who obtained his doctorate degree in clinical psychology at Midwestern University emphasizing in child and adolescent psychology. His work and training experiences include inpatient hospitals, outpatient clinics, private practices, academic medical centers, and integrated medical settings. Dr. Zammuto has experience in individual, group, and family-oriented treatment. Dr. Zammuto specializes in working with children, adolescents, and their families, however, possesses experience providing psychological services to individuals of all ages. 

Psychotherapy for children, teens, and adults 

Dr. Zammuto applies research supported forms of psychotherapy including Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure Response-Prevention (ERP), Parent Management Training (PMT), and integrated Behavioral Therapy approaches that utilize Operant Learning principles. Dr. Zammuto possesses a sincere commitment toward integrating a foundation of strong, positive, and cohesive family involvement within the framework of the therapeutic alliance for each one of his patients. It is Dr. Zammuto’s genuine hope to build a trusting and stable alliance with all who are involved in treatment.

Dr. Zammuto is committed to supporting patient's during each step of the evaluation process. He encourages multidisciplinary collaboration with medical providers, school staff, and family members to assist in providing a fully comprehensive evaluation. Dr. Zammuto also provides evaluations to support children's Individualized Education Plans (IEP) and commonly collaborates with IEP team members and school districts.

What can I expect from a diagnostic assessment? 
The evaluation process includes an intake assessment, a formal estimate and quote, one or more testing sessions (scheduled in 3 hour blocks), and an integrated feedback session where results of the written report are provided. Patients are encouraged to contact Dr. Zammuto for any additional questions or needs concerning the evaluation, diagnosis, and recommendations after the completion of testing.
